KIK-IRPA

In 2025, BRAFA will welcome the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) as part of a new collaboration. Since its founding in 1948, KIK-IRPA has played a pioneering role in the study and preservation of artworks, including paintings, wooden and stone sculptures, tapestries, precious metals, glass, and elements of architectural heritage. A multidisciplinary team of conservation and restoration specialists, chemists, engineers, imaging specialists, photographers, and art historians work together to fulfill the institute’s mission.

At this next edition of BRAFA, the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage will showcase the diverse aspects of its work in a dedicated space. Visitors will learn about activities ranging from the conservation and restoration of artworks to collection management and scientific analysis. Additionally, daily workshops will be held at 2 pm and 5 pm at stand n°136. These interactive sessions will introduce visitors to the specialist techniques used in art conservation and highlight the technologies employed in the field today.
