ABOUT
De Jonckheere was founded in Brussels in 1976 as a gallery specialising in the study and sale of Flemish paintings dating from the 15th to the 17th century. In 1983, it moved to Paris. There, it presented its various collections to the most discerning collectors, while also participating in leading antique art fairs such as the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris (since 1978), BRAFA in Brussels, TEFAF in Maastricht and Frieze Masters in London. In April 2011, De Jonckheere opened a new space in the heart of Geneva’s historic quarter at 7 Rue de l’Hôtel-de-Ville, which has since become the centre of its activities. For selected exhibitions – and since the 2012 edition of the Biennale – the presentation of both old and modern works has characterized the two facets of its activity. Committed to art history research and keen to share 50 years of activity, the gallery embarked upon a major programme in 2022 to digitise its entire archive, which can be accessed on request. Led by Georges and François De Jonckheere, and supported by Laura De Jonckheere, Daisy Prevost-Marcilhacy, Alice Frech and Léa Hernot, the expert team opened a new space at 65 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris in autumn 2026.
