In an international context marked by a reduction in public spending on museums, private and corporate sponsorship represents an important means of enabling museums to fulfil their missions. Drawing on examples from the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, this presentation will highlight how such partnerships can contribute to advancing research into museum collections, whilst also supporting the restoration of works of art and the acquisition of new pieces.
