Delving into a Hellenistic marble sculpture at BRAFA 2024
Delve into antiquity when this gem, presented by Tobias Desmet of Desmet Gallery, was created!
Greek translucent marble was used to conjure up a small, seated Venus leaning towards her ankle where she ties her sandal.
Visit the BRAFA Art Fair until 4 February 2024 and be sure to visit second-generation family gallery Desmet, which focuses on classical sculpture in the broad sense, to behold this little treasure.
The BRAFA Art Fair takes place at Brussels Expo / Heysel. 132 exhibitors take part in this annual art event, showing artworks from antiquity to the present, covering 20 specialities from all over the world.

ABOUT
Tom Desmet自1980年起从事古董业至今已有三十多年了。其儿子Tobias自KULeuven毕业后往国外吸取经验,六年后返回普鲁塞尔。回国后与父亲合伙经营画廊至今已有5年了。他们的画廊坐落在比利时Sablon区的一个古董美术集中地,主要展出古代时期、文艺复兴时期、巴洛克时期、新古典主义时期的古典艺术和雕塑,也就是十九世纪‘壮游时期’(Grand Tour)收藏家所搜集的艺术。
