Hartford Fine Art - Lampronti Gallery will feature at BRAFA 2026 major Italian Old Masters, with a focus on Venetian views, Caravaggesque painters, and women artists. The booth will include works by Canaletto, Bellotto, Artemisia Gentileschi, and Rosalba Carriera, among others.

A highlight is Canaletto’s Capriccio of Piazza San Marco and the Redentore. Canaletto (1697-1768) is the most renowned Venetian view painter. This painting is rare because it is a capriccio, combining real architectural elements with imaginative inventions. While living in Britain, Canaletto positioned the church of the Redentore unrealistically behind St. Mark’s.
He likely included it because Palladio’s architecture was greatly admired by the British.

Another featured work is Portrait of a boy with dogs by Bartolomeo Passarotti. Passarotti (1529-1592) was a leading figure of 16th-century Italian painting. Known for his mannerist style, he also excelled in naturalistic portraiture. The painting shows a proud young boy, probably from a Bolognese aristocratic family. His affectionate dogs enhance the work’s lifelike and intimate character...
