This magnificent handmade needle lace, of impressive dimensions, illustrates part of the remarkable craftsmanship of the lace makers from our regions in the second half of the 19th century. It is an example of point de gaze, one of the four techniques that inherited the excellence of Brussels lace from the 18th century. The lecture will place this exceptional piece within the broader corpus of Brussels lace.
