Sold to General Ferrié, an officer in the French army's Engineers Corps, specialising in the military telegraph service, who headed the French ‘Radiotelegraphie Militaire’ before and during World War I. This chronometer was instrumental in the early radio transmission experiments that ultimately saved the Eiffel Tower from being dismantled
