Morentz (est. 2006) is specialized in unique 20th century furniture design. They are housed in a 1930s industrial monument that once was a shoe factory in the south of The Netherlands. Next to their main gallery, they have several in-house showrooms, a restoration workshop, a library and an art historical archive. The gallery curates and collects pieces from the USA, Brazil, Italy, France, Denmark, Belgium and The Netherlands. Morentz presents designers such as Vladimir Kagan, George Nakashima, Paul Evans, Phillip Lloyd Powell, José Zanine Caldas, Sergio Rodrigues, Jorge Zalszupin, Carlo Scarpa, Gio Ponti, Pierre Chapo, Finn Juhl, Kaare Klint, Børge Mogensen, Ib Kofod-Larsen, Hans Wegner, Jules Wabbes and Dom Hans van der Laan. The focus thus lies on creating immersive showcases where design icons from various movements, regions and eras come together. It is in the unexpected combination of different, high quality, original pieces that they distinguish themselves. Within this curated composition, all objects connect by means of their inherent timeless aesthetics.
