Morentz (est. 2006) specializes in unique 20th century furniture design. Housed in a 1930s industrial site in the south of the Netherlands, the gallery consists of a main gallery space, several showrooms, a restoration atelier and an art history archive. The gallery collects pieces from all over the world, with its main focus on the United States, Brazil, Scandinavia, Belgium, Italy and Spain. Morentz presents designers such as George Nakashima, Phillip Lloyd Powell, José Zanine Caldas, Jorge Zalszupin, Carlo Scarpa, Gio Ponti, Pierre Chapo, Finn Juhl, Jules Wabbes and Dom Hans van der Laan. The primary aim is to create immersive presentations which reunite design icons from diverse movements, regions and eras. It is the unexpected combination of different, high quality, original pieces that sets the galley apart. Within each curated composition, correspondences are created which highlight each piece's timeless aesthetic.
