At this year’s BRAFA, the Martel-Greiner gallery is paying tribute to two great artists who died in 2019. One central piece is ‘Eridan’, a masterpiece by the metal artist Claude Mercier. In addition to this monumental silvered nickel sculpture, we are presenting a selection of his powerful bas-reliefs, bronzes, steel and welded brass works, jewellery and preparatory sketches. The other artist we are focusing on is the Swiss jeweller Gilbert Albert, who became world-famous for his passion for rough cut stones and his unique sculptural approach to jewellery, using all the possibilities offered him by nature. The spotlight is also on Guillaume Piechaud’s stainless steel works.
