Established in 2012 by Carlo Milano, Callisto Fine Arts specializes in European sculpture and works of art and in Old Master paintings, with a focus on Italian art. The name of the gallery comes from the Greek ‘Kallistòs’, which means 'most beautiful'. This indicates the gallery’s mission to source and present the finest quality pieces. An art historian, Carlo Milano has published and lectured on Italian Baroque sculpture. Art historical research is central to his work, and he collaborates with leading specialists. A highly knowledgeable art dealer, he has discovered sculptures that are now in the Metropolitan in New York, in Lacma in Los Angeles, and in prestigious private collections worldwide. Since September 2017, Callisto has moved the gallery to new premises in Bury Street in the heart of St James’s. He participates in London Art Week, Modenantiquaria, Fine Arts Paris, Frieze Masters, and the Biennale of Palazzo Corsini in Florence.
