Osborne Samuel – Celebrating 800 Years of Spirit & Endeavour at Salisbury Cathedral > 18.04.2021

Osborne Samuel contributed to this major exhibition curated by Jacquiline Creswell, the cathedral’s visual arts adviser, to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the foundation of Salisbury Cathedral. Salisbury has a very ambitious arts programme and this is a highlight of their anniversary year. The 20 works were installed just before lock down and now the exhibition in the cathedral as well as the cloisters and the close can be visited (booking is essential). Participating artists include Chadwick, Cragg, Gormley, Moore and Shawcross. The exhibition also features the cathedral’s permanent collection which includes Frink’s Walking Madonna and Hepworth’s Construction (Crucifixion).  Osborne Samuel arranged the loan of an important tapestry by Grayson Perry and the Daedalus sculpture by Eduardo Paolozzi. The gallery also supported the production of the catalogue for the exhibition.
