The Chastel-Maréchal Gallery has been situated in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Près since 1994. Directed by Aline Chastel, the gallery is devoted to the promotion of the most important French furniture designers of the 20th century. Her passion for research and authenticity have fed her love of discovery. The combination of her well-documented knowledge, her eye and her aesthetic sensibility have enabled her to bring the talent of a number of brilliant designers active between the 1930s and 1970s to light. By creating exhibitions which are sometimes accompanied by books now considered reference works, Aline Chastel plays a key role developing the taste of collectors. The gallery focuses in particular on the following artists: Line Vautrin, Jean Royère, Serge Roche, Jacques Quinet, Yonel Lebovici, Jean-Charles Moreux and Marianna Kennedy. She also participates in the promotion of the Brazilian design. By co-producing the book Brazilian Modern Furniture, for release at Olhared editions, the gallery wants to make discover the most beautiful realizations of these designers. In this way for its first participation in BRAFA, the Gallery Chastel-Maréchal will exhibit its favourite Brazilian creators’ masterpieces.
