Phoenix Ancient Art-Conical Helmet

Conical helmet
Urartian, 9th-8th century BC
H 30 cm

Relief decoration in repoussé of giant serpents with animal heads inclining downward as if to protect the royal figures in the center, who, incised and in the heraldic composition, face each other, on the sides of the winged sun disk of Shamash and flanking the Tree of Life.
Around the band smaller figures of adorants. Iconography close to the Assyrian art, reflecting the cultural exchanges of the time.
